Europe is starting to opening post-COVID-19. While not entirely out of the woods it is encouraging to see lockdown restrictions being lifted by our European neighbours. Always follow exact travel warnings for each country from The Department of Foreign Affairs website and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website.
Ryanair has announced that from the 1st of July they will be operating 1,000 daily flights. That being said be warned that countries are likely to update and change travel restrictions at any time.
Letโs look at each country:
๐ฎ๐ช Ireland
- Ryanair currently operating a limited flight schedule.
- 14-day self-isolation required upon arrival into Ireland (Note: I was returning from NYC and had to self-isolate and the HSE called on me to check I was self-isolating).
- All passengers must print and fill out a locator form, which must be handed into government officials on arrival at your destination. This is provided by most airlines. Here is a link if you want to print and fill out in advance of travel Locator Form
๐ฌ๐ง United Kingdom
- Ryanair currently operating a limited flight schedule.
- 14-day self-isolation required upon arrival.
- From 8 June: all passengers must fill in an online form to provide journey and contact details before entering the UK.ย Online Form
๐ฎ๐น Italy
- From 3rd June: Italy open to holidaymakers.ย
- From 5th June Sardinia is open for non-residents. Travellers must fill in the online form.
- From 7th June Sicily is open for travels.ย
๐จ๐พ Cyprus
- Not open to Irish holiday makers yet.
๐ฌ๐ท Greece
- From 1st July: Greek islands open.ย
๐ช๐ธ Spain
- From 1st July: Spain is open to Irish holiday makers.
๐ฒ๐น Malta
- From 1st July: Malta is open to Irish holiday makers
๐ต๐ฑ Poland
- Not open to Irish travellers yet (16th June: International flights ban extended).
๐ง๐ช Belgium
- Ryanair currently operating a limited flight schedule.ย Until 15th June: only essential travel allowed (evidence may be required).
- 15th June: Belgium to reopen borders within the EU, Schengen and the UK.
๐ต๐น Portugal
- Ryanair currently operating limited flight schedule and the majority of tourism facilities are already open.
- Until 15th June: open for Schengen countries and UK, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein. Flights to Italy and Spain suspended. Essential travel from Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Ireland, Romania is permitted.ย
- 15th June: all international flights to resume.
๐ฉ๐ช Germany
- Ryanair currently operating a limited flight schedule.
- From 15th June: open borders to neighbouring countries. End of general travel warning for EU, UK, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, replaced by individual country rules/restrictions. Third country travel warning remains.
- 2-week quarantine for incoming pax abolished in some federal states, expected to be lifted by 15th June.
๐ซ๐ท France
- Until at least 15th June: travel restrictions apply within the EU / Schengen and the UK
- Until at least 15th June: borders closed outside of the EU / Schengen / UK.ย
- Visitors travelling must present an intl. travels attestation and a letter certifying they do not have Covid-19 symptoms
